The second workshop helps users learn how to select and evaluate information sources. Specifically, users will learn to identify different types and formats of sources, how these sources are created and published, and how they can be used for research and other purposes.

These sources include but are not limited to books, articles, media items, social media, print and electronic sources, scholarly and popular sources, primary and secondary sources, and gray literature. Users will also learn to use CRAAP standards (Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, Purpose/Point of view) to evaluate sources and take a hands-on exercise to identify fake news or unreliable sources.
