How to request scanned copies of journal articles, book chapters, or books that are not available at DKU or Duke Libraries:
English (or other languages):
Using Duke Libraries Document Delivery Services for English journal articles or a book chapter:
- Click Here to log in with your NetID to enter the document delivery service system.
- For users new to the service, follow instruction to create an account, fill out all required information, and be sure to select one of the listed libraries from the Pickup Location Box (any location is fine).
- Click New Requests – Article or New Requests – Book Chapter in the menu, fill out all required information and submit the form.
- Only article and book chapter can be requested.
- Please note do not put more than one chapter in a form. Fill out a separate form for each chapter of the same book.
- It usually takes 1 to 3 working days. You will receive an email notification, or access your account to check the status of your request.
- Please note print books or physical items from Duke in Durham or other American Libraries cannot be sent to DKU.
Chinese:
Sending your request to dkulibrary@dukekunshan.edu.cn for Chinese journal articles, books, or book chapters.
The Library may:
- Obtain it from the partner institutions; or
- Obtain it through the China Academic Library & Information System (CALIS).
- What is CALIS? It is a nationwide academic library consortium established with the support of China’s Ministry of Education to promote the co-construction, sharing, and utilization of information resources among university libraries. As one of the public service systems of the “211 Project,” it has built a three-tier service network covering more than 1,800 member libraries across China, making it one of the largest university library consortia in the country.
