Borrowing Policies

Current Duke Kunshan University faculty, staff, and students may use their DKU Card to borrow materials. Other group members with DKU Card may consult the Library staff on the 1st floor Information Desk.

  • You are responsible for all materials you check out and all fees or damages you incur. You will be charged a fine of 1 RMB a day if you don’t return or renew books on time. 
  • If you don’t return items you borrowed on time and items are declared as lost, we will notify DKU UG/GRA Bursar Office to put service indicator hold on your student account.
  • Do not loan borrowed items to others. You remain responsible for the item until you return it.
  • Do not let anyone else use your DKU card to borrow items.
  • Do not depend on others to return items for you.
  • Note the time or date your borrowed materials are due. Be sure to read the notices sent from the library system.
  • If your book is recalled you must return it by the date indicated on the recall notification.
  • If a book you have borrowed is requested by an instructor for Course Reserves, you must return the item within 24 hours.
  • If you receive an overdue notice for materials that you believe you returned, please reply to the notice using the online form.
