PLEASE NOTE: This workshop was originally scheduled on March 31. If you have already registered on Qualtrics before, you don’t need to register again.

Everyone today is a creator; you can create photos, videos and other types of creative works. Are you ever confused by the copyright issues related to creative works? Do you know how to protect your works and how to use others’ works properly? Join us for the workshop, “Introduction to Copyright for Creators”, led by Research and Instruction Librarian Mengjie Zou, where we will explore the basics of copyright law in China.

In this session, we will cover what copyright is, what types of works have copyright, and to what extent creators are protected by copyright law. We will also discuss licensing your works to others and using someone else’s copyrighted works, including the difference between licensing and fair use and how creative works enter the public domain.

By the end of this session, you’ll have a better understanding of how copyright law applies to your works, how to protect your creative endeavors, and how to legally use other people’s works.

Please note that librarians are not legal professionals; the contents and resources provided in this workshop are meant for informational purposes only and should not be considered as legal advice.
