Guideline for Using the Poster Printer

The Library provides fee-based poster-printing services to all DKU community members. Everyone can submit requests by following the guideline below.

About Printing

  1. Application Form: https://dukekunshan.formstack.com/workflows/dku_library_poster_printing_application.
  2. Timeline: Posters will be printed every Tuesday and Thursday only (except for public holidays). Printing requests should be submitted at least one day in advance.
  3. Size: Please see the table below in “Poster Size and Price” for details.
    • Custom size can be accepted: the maximum length is 5m (197″); the maximum width is 0.914m (35″).
    • Cutting table is available to trim your poster. 
  4. Price: Please see the table below in “Charges” for details. Use the price formula or fill out the application form to check the final price for custom-sized posters. 
  5. Supported File Types: TIFF, PNG, JPG, PDF. Unqualified dimensions/resolutions might be returned for modification.
  6. Paper Type: Glossy.
  7. Pick-Up: Visit the 1st floor information desk to collect posters after you receive an email notification.

Charges

The cost before value-added tax is calculated based on the below formula:

Cost = 44.5 * Square Meters + 30

For example: if the actual poster print size is 0.635m * 1.8m: 

  • For University Business, the cost will be 0.635 * 1.80 * 44.5 + 30 = 81 RMB;
  • For Personal use, value-added tax (VAT) rate is 6%, the cost will be (0.635 * 1.80 * 44.5 + 30) * 1.06=85.86 RMB.

Charge Method

  • University Business charges through the project fund transfer. Your application will go to project manager for approval first. The project manager should ensure that the project code has sufficient balance. The fee will be transferred to the project according to the application at the beginning of the following month.
  • Personal use charges through DKUcard on site. You may pay fees by swiping your DKU card, WeChat Pay or Alipay.

 

Fapiao (Invoice)

  • Posters printed for University Business do not provide invoices.
  • Posters printed for Personal use purpose, only fapiao on personal name can be provided according to the application in the following month, but please note the invoice cannot be reimbursed by DKU.
