Three librarians from DKU Library presented at the conference, covering topics including research services and metadata management, digital learning and digital literacy, library engagement, branding, and outreach.

June Ma, Acquisition and Metadata Librarian, shared with attendees the best practices in cataloguing to reduce errors in online library catalogs and meet library users’ information searching behaviors in the presentation “Keep Service in Mind When Doing Cataloguing.”

Mengjie Zou, Research and Instruction Librarian, introduced her research in the copyright law in both China and the U.S. in the presentation “Fair Use and Copyright for Online Education.” The presentation discussed how joint-venture university libraries should follow laws in different countries while practicing the right of fair use of educational resources. This common challenge among joint-venture university libraries raised heated discussions among peer attendees after the presentation.

Another Research and Instruction Librarian Hongyi Gong delivered the presentation “Engage Library Users with the Unknown: A Recap of the ‘Blind Date with a Book’ Event.” The presentation was about the Blind Date with a Book event held by the Library in January 2022 and included experience and insights gained from the event.
