On Monday, September 16, 2024, Ryder Kouba, Archives and Special Collections Librarian of Duke Kunshan University, visited the National Archives of Thailand (NAT) in Bangkok.
The staff delivered a presentation on the history and organization of NAT and demonstrated the archival process and preservation techniques adopted by the NAT. A tour was later given to showcase documents, photographs, maps, and architectural drawings from the late-19th and early-20th century.
A Thai government agency under the Fine Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture, NAT’s collection consists over one million historical government and public records. Over a thousand of collections have been digitized with limited photos publicly available online.
