When doing a research assignment, it is important to know what types of information sources to use, especially scholarly and popular sources that your instructor wants you to be able to identify and use correctly. Understanding the nature of each type of source is usually an initial and essential step in academic research. This workshop helps you distinguish scholarly and popular sources as well as understand the authorship, purpose, intent, audience, level of authority, depth of research, and timing of publishing of these sources.
