Data literacy is a competency that allows you to find, evaluate, and work with data effectively in academic and professional contexts. Such skillset involves understanding how raw information is transformed into structured formats, identifying different types of data and authoritative sources, and evaluating the credibility and relevance of data for decision-making and scholarly work.

By the end of this workshop, you will have an understanding of:

  • Finding and reading dataset using effective discovery strategies;
  • Assessing data quality and applying proper citation practices for datasets;
  • Data-related services and resources at the DKU Library.
