About the Workshop:

Ancient books are the lifeblood of traditional Chinese culture, yet time has left many of them fragile and damaged. Restoring a page of an ancient book is not just the preservation of traditional culture but also a tribute to and protection of history.

No professional background is needed—just bring your curiosity and passion for ancient books. Join us to experience the charm of book restoration and contribute to the preservation of Chinese civilization.

This workshop offers a unique opportunity to:

  • Learn the basics of ancient books with hands-on appreciation of Qing Dynasty texts and woodblock prints
  • Explore a case study on the restoration of Jian Nan Shi Gao
  • Experience the art of book restoration, woodblock printing and craft your own thread-bound book

Due to limited materials, there are around 20 seats available—first come, first served.
