Embedded Library Sessions

Librarians provide embedded library sessions to support faculty’s teaching and research. If you require an embedded session, a Librarian will visit your classroom to deliver a specific session customized for your course. These sessions can last 30 minutes to 1.5 hours based on your needs and course contents. Embedded sessions can be delivered online, face-to-face, hybrid or pre-recording based on the class cohort and instructor’s arrangement. The goal of the sessions are to help students improve their awareness of getting and using information of any kind properly.

Topics we may cover in embedded sessions include but are not limit to

  • General introduction to DKU Library resources
  • Using subject databases
  • Searching strategies
  • Literature reviews
  • Evaluating resources
  • Copyright and Fair Use
  • Introduction to citation management tools – Zotero or EndNote
  • Engaging with Primary Sources
  • Research Data Management
  • Data visualization
  • Quantitative and qualitative data analysis tools

Faculty may request an embedded session by contacting the librarian of your division or program, or based on your data-related needs:
