Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at one of the leading academic research libraries in the United States? How does Duke University Libraries support research, teaching, and learning across the university? What makes its collections unique, and how is it preparing for the future in the age of AI?

Join us for an informal breakfast conversation with four Associate University Librarians (AULs) from Duke University Libraries. Our guests will share insights into Duke Libraries’ history, distinctive collections, strategic initiatives, and evolving approaches to library services, collection development, and emerging technologies.

The conversation will explore a range of topics, including the future of academic library services, strategies for managing scholarly collections in a changing publishing landscape, the preservation and use of rare and special collections, and how AI is influencing library operations, research support, and user expectations.

Meet Our Guests:

  • Emily Daly — Associate University Librarian for Research and Public Services
  • Dracine Hodges — Associate University Librarian for Collections
  • Naomi Nelson — Associate University Librarian and Director of the Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library
  • Jameca Dupree — Associate University Librarian for Finance and Administration

This is a great opportunity for DKU faculty, staff, and students to connect directly with Duke Libraries’ leadership, learn more about the resources and expertise available through our partnership, and exchange ideas about the future of academic libraries.

Come with your questions, enjoy breakfast, and get to know Duke Libraries!
