For the first time exclusive for DKU students, faculty and staff, visit the eslite bookstore suzhou to select the books you want to read — DKU Library will purchase them and add them to our collection! In addition, you still have the opportunity to select from a great variety of books on campus.

Join us from April 16 to April 23 for an immersive browsing experience, help enrich DKU Library’s collection, and promote a culture of reading across campus and beyond!

  • Time: April 22– 23, 9:00am – 6:00pm

To facilitate a smooth participation experience, shuttle bus transportation will be arranged for one day during the event (April 18). In addition, eslite bookstore offers 30 seats for Prof. YU Zhongxian‘s (余中先) sharing session of his research on Albert Camus (L’Étranger, La Peste), to be held in the bookstore 4:00pm-5:00pm, April 18. The seats are available to participants who take the afternoon shuttle bus.

All participants, no matter taking the shuttle bus or visiting by yourselves, must RSVP via the Qualtrics survey in advance and commit to following the schedule and selection guidelines listed below.

I. Eligibility

  • This book selection event is exclusively open to DKU students, faculty, and staff.
  • Please note that this event is not open to family members of employees.

II. Event Period

  • From April 16 to April 23, every day from 10:00am-9:00pm. Selections outside of the designated date and time will not be accepted.

III. Transportation

  • You may visit the eslite bookstore suzhou by yourself during the event period.

  • RSVP for the shuttle bus arranged by DKU Library (April 18).

IV. Selection Criteria

  • Location of books to be selected: Participants can only select books on the 3rd floor of bookstore.
  • Applicability: Selected books must support DKU’s academic programs, cater to curriculum requirements, and advance faculty and student research. Priority is given to books that are pedagogically valuable, authored by experts, and published by respected academic presses, addressing the immediate and forecasted demands of DKU’s diverse educational community. DKU Library will evaluate and decide whether the selected books are eventually added to the Library collection.
  • Language: Only books in Chinese and English may be selected.
  • Publication Year: Books published after the year 2020 should be prioritized.
  • Price: The price limit is 500 RMB per volume for Chinese books and $200 USD per volume for English books. For book sets, the price limit is applied to a single volume within the set.
  • Format: Selection is restricted to books only; periodicals, magazines, or other non-book resources such as DVDs, postcards, or souvenirs are excluded and will not be accepted.
  • Number of Selections: Participants may select any number of books without an upper limit.

V. Registration Procedure

  • If you take the shuttle bus on April 18:
    • Each person will be given a paper registration form on the bus to fill out with their NetID, status (faculty, staff, undergraduate, graduate student), and department.

    • After selecting your books, please fill in the number of books on the paper registration form and take both the books and the form to the counter on the 3rd floor for staff registration.

  • If you visit the bookstore by yourself:
    • Bring your DKU card with you.
    • After selecting your books, bring the books to the counter on the 3rd floor, and register with staff when assistance is available.

    • You will be asked to provide or fill in the information including your NetID, status (faculty, staff, undergraduate, graduate student), department, and the number of books you have selected.

  • Please do not take the selected books out of the bookstore. The bookstore is entitled to initiate an investigation and take necessary legal measures to address any violations.
